READ THIS.

Instead of telling you what I'm reading now and constantly changing it... I will post all the books I've read lately with the one I am currently reading first. So far, they've all been fabulous.

The Beach - Alex Garland

I have though about reading The Beach since the movie came out years ago with Leonardo DiCaprio. I watched the movie and even though the scenery was breathtaking the movie was a bit odd. A friend of mine at the time always raved about how great the book was so I am finally reading it. It is great... and I look forward to re-watching the movie to see if having read the novel makes any more sense of the film or sheds some light on the oddities of the main character, Richard.

Now that I am finished this book... total Lord of the Flies for Generation X

Water for Elephants - Sara Gruen

This book has ALWAYS been on my list of must-read books... the recent Hollywood production pushed it up the list. I wanted to read the book before seeing the movie so I zoomed through it only to miss it in theatres. Fabulous book but I've heard it wasn't such a fabulous film...

The Girl who Played With Fire - Larsson

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - Larsson

This was a must read... The whole series was (is, cuz i haven't read the 3rd) and I don't know if it was because I really wanted to see the films and I try not to watch films before reading the book (if it exists) OR if it was because more than 1 stranger has told me I remind them of Lisbeth Salander as featured in the films. I don't know if this is a good or bad thing...

The Pact - Jodi Picoult

This is my second Jodi Picoult novel and I am hooked. I couldn't put this book down... There is something about Picoult's writing that sucks you in. I have a few more of her books to read over the summer... hopefully.

The Disappeared - Kim Echlin

This book made me want to fall in love again... something about it was very intense. Maybe it's my weakness for Cambodians or my strong desire to travel to south east Asia...

Dismantled - Jennifer McMahon

At times this book felt a little bit juvenile but I ended up really enjoying it. In fact it is one of those books that you think back on and realize how much you liked it. I've added 3 more of her books that are the same style to my Amazon Wish List so hopefully I will get on them soon.
