Clive's Blog

So my dad is in Puerto Escondido... otherwise known as heaven as far as he's concerned. He left last week sometime & won't be back until March. Armed with his iPhone and with the advantage of free wi-fi I get quite a few daily emails that go a little something like this (FYI... green lettering is my dad writing)...

see anything you like?

Which led to this...

This gives a whole new meaning to 'online shopping'.

The daily emails continued... or more like random tid bits of information...

I brought 3 bottles of hot sauce with me. It makes the tacos twice as good. I hope I don't run out.
Love ya xox

Followed by this:

I think I'm going to start a daily blog to you.
I hope I can think of something profound or at least wise before tomorrow!!

Which brings us here. I decided that I would blog my dad's blogs right here on my blog! Unfortunately...

I got a serious problem here. Nothing wise to say!!

Did I tell you I've been walking every morning? A little more each day. Since day one. I made it to the point today. As far as I can go. 35 minutes walking briskly each way. Good for me!!! Stop for a big glass of OJ to go on the way home and chill in my room taking pictures of the surfers for an hour or so till about 10:00 and it's time to start tanning.

Is the B in blog for boring!!

But I liked the idea of him blogging to me.. my dad is a wise man, or at least is supposed to be. So I told him he should send me an amazing surfing photo everyday.... or any photo of something inspiring or interesting. He thought that was a good idea. Unfortunately he doesn't know how to use his laptop which means he doesn't know how to send photos from his laptop so all we get are iPhone shots...

Full moon setting at the start of my walk. 6:50 AM

Off to a pretty good start tho.

So that brings us to today. I will keep posting as long as he does so I hope you enjoy it... for those of you who know my father you probably will :o)

I created him his very own page with at link at the top of my home page so you can check it out whenever you want! Hopefully it'll be updated daily..lol.

my son, the artist?

My son has never really been all that interested in art. He'll start to color or draw but then something else quickly grabs his attention and off he goes. He has, however, produced a few drawings that I think are AMAZING. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. So I decided to photograph them and shre them with the world.

In all the hustle 'n bustle of the holiday season I failed to post something about the TSO show we went to on December 22nd. It's our 2nd annual show... and it's sorta becoming a "Christmas isn't Christmas without it" kind of tradition. I HIGHLY recommend the event to anyone who loves a GREAT performance and a slightly different approach to the holiday season with a twist of rock 'n roll.

Thanks to the magic of my iPhone I was able to capture some photos & a couple of very interesting videos that showcase the amazement of the TSO as well as the 2 head-banging teenagers sitting in front of us. The vids are sorta long but worth it. Check out Pachelbels Canon here & the AMAZING grand finale here. There are a couple of other TSO videos on my youtube channel if you so desire...

Holi-DAZE & a Happy New Year!

Wow. What a loooooong Saturday it's been. That's what the holidays end up feeling like. And I'm not so sure I am ready for the real world again.

We packed up the family on Christmas afternoon and headed north towards a week of fam jamming. LOTS of activities... toys & games & drinking & sleeping & hot tubbing & puzzling (yes, 6 hours of it!) & eating & drinking & reading & visiting & drinking & skating & even a bit of backyard snowboarding. I even slid down the kid's mini hill in my bikini.

I spent the last 4 days in Montreal with one of my best girlfriends in the world. Just her & me & our kiddies. While the kids didn't always get along we adults had a wonderful time. There was lots of eating ... & drinking. By new years morning I was so sick of mimosa's I wanted to explode. The early morning irish coffee was nice tho... It was year 5 in an annual tradition of spending new years together. It might have been just the 2 of us... kids in bed... drinking wine & champagne and wondering why 1 of her 3 or 4 channels didn't get the count down... but I really can't think of a better way to ring in the new year!

So it was a wonderfull holiday season, and an excellent start to 2011. I loved how over the past 8 days my clothes got smaller & smaller as I enjoyed the festivities & most importantly the wine! Actually I'm not too fond of the holiday pounds but at least I'm able to laugh it off. Ummmm... YOGA SI!
